Caldwell’s Roofing is pleased to offer a 5-year warranty on our re-roofs. Our 5-year proper-installation warranty is basically a way to protect the customer should Caldwell’s Roofing inadvertently do something awry in the roofing installation. Offering this sort of warranty (rather than the common 1-year, 2-year, or 3-year varieties) means that we are going to take pains to ensure that your roof is installed correctly the first time.
You might not think so, but roofing is a pretty complicated trade. There’s a lot more to it than meets the eye, and the rookie roofer can cause a lot of damage unawares to your roof, sometimes even by doing things that seem to be “going the second mile”! For example, some novice roofers will nail their shingles high, thinking that it will “keep the water out” better. In reality, when roofers do this, the shingles will sag, and the whole roof will often have to be entirely replaced. Caldwell’s Roofing has gotten multiple calls from homeowners needing their roof “fixed” from this “high-nailing”!
Caldwell’s Roofing wants to ensure that you have a zero-leak, well-performing roof that not only meets code standards, but reaches to “industry-best-practices.” They have been studying roofing for years, and are always wanting to learn more, so as to ensure a “complete roof system.”
One thing that Caldwell’s Roofing sees as critical is attic ventilation. To have a roof that is going to last its intended lifetime, there must be adequate attic ventilation. Caldwell’s Roofing has seen multiple cases of roofs failing at 5-10 years of age because of this simple fact! Roofs are supposed to last 20-30 years at the bare minimum (and up to lifetime, with quality shingles, such as GAF’s) – it’s too bad to see roofs being thrown away because the original roofer wasn’t practicing his trade with discipline.
Proper-installation warranties are important for the homeowner to ensure that the roofer is going to meet his end of the bargain – correct installation of the roof, system components, flashing details, as well as ventilation and decking assessments.
